Requirements

  • Diploma in pharmacy from a local institution of higher learning recognized and accredited by the Government, or an equivalent qualification recognized.
  • Previous working experience in a hospital setting is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on stand-by for extended hours in a hospital setting.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  1. Inpatient Pharmacy and Ward Supply
  2. Outpatient Pharmacy and Ambulatory Care
  3. Aseptic preparations (e.g., cytotoxic and parenteral nutrition).
Minimum Competencies
  • Demonstrated strong clinical pharmacotherapy knowledge.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-versed in hospital pharmacy operational activities and management skills.
  • Competent inter and intra-collaborative skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in fundamental Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel functions.
Language Qualifications
  • Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level OR equivalent qualification recognised by the Government (for Malaysian citizens).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications.
  • Assist in the preparation of extemporaneous pharmaceuticals.
  • Liaise with healthcare providers to ensure the accuracy of prescription information.
  • Provide patients and customers with necessary information about their prescriptions, medications and products.
  • Promote safe and quality use of medicines to patients and healthcare professionals through continuous pharmacy education.
  • Participate in training opportunities and initiatives within the institution.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies throughout the career.
