Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy recognised by the Government from any local institutions of higher learning or equivalent qualification; AND
  • Registered with Pharmacy Board of Malaysia.
  • Successful completion of Pharmacist Provisional Training.
  • At least one (1) year hospital / community pharmacy experiences.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  1. Aseptic preparations (e.g.: cytotoxic and parenteral nutrition),
  2. Nuclear medicine
  3. Clinical pharmacokinetic services (i.e.:TDM)
  4. Clinical pharmacotherapy & ward services.
  • Applicants should be a Malaysian citizen.
  • Well-versed in hospital pharmacy operational activities and management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong clinical pharmacotherapy knowledge.
  • Ability to work on stand-by for extended hours in a hospital setting and respond to passive and active calls.
  • Have basic knowledge on management and supervision.
  • Adaptive, innovative, independent and with good problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate medication-use processes including ordering, screening, preparing, dispensing, administering, and monitoring.
  • Provide recommendations to healthcare professionals on selecting appropriate drugs and monitor patient responses.
  • Conduct medication and device counseling for patients or caregivers as needed.
  • Advise on medication requirements, interpret results, and recommend appropriate therapeutic drug monitoring plans.
  • Serve as a point of reference and expert on pharmacotherapy issues.
  • Promote safe and quality use of medicines to patients and healthcare professionals through continuous pharmacy education.
  • Participate in training opportunities and initiatives within the institution.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies throughout the pharmacist career.

LANGUAGE QUALIFICATION


All candidates must have obtained:

  • Credit (at least C) for Bahasa Melayu and English (including oral examination) in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the government.
  • At least Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
