Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

·    Bachelor of Science / Health Science (Physic/ Medical Radiation/ Medical Physics / Health Physics) or Master of Science in the relevant filed recognised by the government from local higher education institutions or recognised equivalent qualification.

·       Area of Specialization in Radiology

·       Good organizational, administrative, analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Understand all aspects of the job and be able to work independently.

·       Basic computer/ IT knowledge and skills.

·       Possess good communication skills, keen to learn new things and able to work in a team.

·       Knowledgeable in procurement, supplies and assets.

·       Fundamental in financial management.

·       Knowledgeable in operating machines.

·       Ability to apply quality control technique skills.

·       Understanding government regulation and circulars.

·       Leadership/ supervision skills.
 

Other Requirement 

·         Applicants should be a Malaysian citizen.
 

Language Qualifications

·    All candidates must have obtained credits (at least C) in Bahasa Malaysia and English (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government or at least Band 3 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

·       Ability to communicate in different languages would be an advantage. 

Note: Starting salary of RM 2,319.00 to RM 9,620.00 depending on work experience.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head of Department in The Management Unit

·         Formulate and control the budget involving radiology imaging equipment, workstations and printing machines.

·         Management in matters related to the procurement and installation of Radiology imaging equipment and calibration equipment.

·         Provide a new inspection charge calculation.

·         Manage matters related to licensing under Act 304 and international codes of practice for activities involving atomic energy.

·         Supervise, guide and provide advisory services to staff under supervision

Perform Specific Tasks

·         Ensure annual quality control tests for irradiation apparatus equipment in all departments are carried out according to schedule.

·         Monitor and identify damage and maintenance of irradiation apparatus.

·        Carry out an inventory of radiation measurement assets and test tool used in the radiation protection and quality control programs at SASMEC@IIUM.

·         Manage the calibration maintenance of radiation measurement assets and test tools at recognised agencies and manufacturers.

·         Collecting the statistical data monthly as required by the authorities.

·         Ensuring the safety of staff and patients as recommended by Act 304.

·         Perform quality control tests on the illuminator in the Radiology Department.

·         Perform quality control tests on radiation protection equipment such as lead aprons.  

Teaching / Research

·         Assist in carrying out trainings/ workshops/ seminars/ conferences involving medical physics and clinical services.

·         Contribute in the field of teaching form time to time as need.

·    Helping the head of department to collect data and make analyses to improve the quality and performance of operations and systems at the departmental level.

Others

·         Carry out duties as Radiation Protection Committee at SASMEC@IIUM.

·         Responsible for the care of assets and measuring devices.

·         Other tasks directed from time to time.
