Requirements

  • Degree or Master in counselling/ psychology from any local / international higher learning institution or equivalent qualification which is recognised by the Malaysian Government.
  • Registered counsellor with the Malaysian Board of Counsellors
  • Interested and competent in psychological counselling, career counselling, career development, career assessment, family counselling and module formulation. 
  • High competency in conducting survey and data analysis (SPSS, EXCEL).
  • Interested to handle staff related matters which may involve counselling and guidance, group intervention, staff development related projects and exit policy related matter. 
  • Strong helping personality with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Tech savvy: Preferably competent in Microsoft Excel, SPSS, Canva and Video editing tools.
  • High level of presentation skills, good public speaking skills and strong.
  • Passionate to psycho-educate society on mental health related issues.
  • Pleasant personality, good ethics (adab) and awesome interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and maintain effective working relationship across diverse groups.
  • Mature, proactive and dynamic individual with ability to adapt to changes.
  • Creative, versatile, meticulous and have an eye for details. 
  • Open minded, positive attitude and self-motivated. 
  • Able to converse and write well in English and Bahasa Melayu.
  • A team player who is able to work independently in fast pace environment.
  • Applicants should be Malaysian citizen. 


Note: Starting salary of RM2,281.86 to RM9,544.00 depending on work experience.

LANGUAGE QUALIFICATION
 
All candidates must have obtained: 

  1. Credit (at least C) for Bahasa Malaysia and English (including oral examination in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognised by the Government; AND
  2. At least Band 3 and above in Malaysian University English Test (MUET)

Responsibilities

  • To become bridging between employees and Management Services Division on staffing related issues.
  • To provide mental health support to staff of IIUM which may cover individual and group counselling.
  • To conduct relevant career/ psychometric assessment whenever necessary.
  • To organise special mental health related events/ programmes/ initiatives which focusing on staff and career related issues.
  • To handle exit policy procedures which may involve consultation, intervention, supervision, probation and legal related matters.
  • To get involve with staffing related matters whenever necessary by giving advices/ consultation/ assistant across other departments under the Management Services Division.
  • To collaborate and synergize on mental health and career development related initiative organized by internal and external agencies
